Getting Organized in 2018

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2018 was to get Organized. Keeping the house from dissolving into Chaos (especially since having children) is an area of my life that I have struggled with for as long as I can remember. I know I am not alone in this but I am determined, this year will be better. This year I will figure out how to get the house working like the well-oiled machine I know it can be.

Getting Organized in 2018

As the first step in this project, I went searching for a magnetic calendar and organizer for the fridge. Originally I wanted a chore chart for the kids but none of the options I found seemed to suit my needs. They were either too big, too detailed, required too much set-up every day or week – and let’s face it, time is a precious commodity for all of us nowadays! I wanted to get organized to save time, not spend more.

I finally found what I was looking for with the Magnetic dry erase calendar and multipurpose whiteboard from Lushleaf Designs. This set was perfect and contained everything I needed to start getting organized. The set arrived well packed, with no bending or damage to the magnetic boards, which is a problem I have had when ordering large bendable items in the past. My children especially loved that the set came with a variety of marker colors and enjoy rotating through them all while keeping up with their chores.

While I too, like the colors included I am more impressed with the firm but fine tips on the markers which make’s writing in small print both easy to do and easy to read.  The fact that the markers and eraser are also magnetic is a huge bonus as well. No more digging through the junk drawer to try and find that long lost dry erase marker! The little set of reusable decals and the water bottle to help clean the board were also nice extras to have. I am also pleased to report that the board wipes clean with no noticeable residue left behind. It always annoyed me when whiteboards would have small traces of former writing making it look dingy no matter how much you tried to clean it off.

Would I buy this item again?

Absolutely! Not only is the quality of this set wonderful but it is easy to customize. Because of the way my fridge is set up, I found the original two full sheets took up to much room, so I cut the second sheet into sections, this was easy to do because of the way it was laid out. I can see multiple uses for this item with limited set-up and invested time. It will also be easy for my family to alter the set-up on a month to month basis as needed. If you and your family are trying to become more organized then this is most definitely a product that I would recommend.

  1. I love that setup! It’s too bad I can’t order that set here in Canada. I want something similar for my special needs child as she gets older.

It’s been very helpful! I hope you can find something similar in your area, I have seen them in stores a few times and I suppose you could always try to make one if it came right down to it, I have seen the supplies to do so in a few craft stores. It would require painting the lines on a magnetic whiteboard and making some magnets though.
