I have a confession to make. I have always liked candles but I have never considered myself a ‘candle person’. In fact, in our household, it’s my husband that’s always loved candles. We can’t go into a store without him picking up at least one. I enjoyed the candles, but let’s face it – most of them are quite expensive with very little benefits. In my experience, scented candles smell great for a few minutes and then fade away which makes their price tag a bit dubious right?

It also made me a little bit wary about trying higher priced candles. Why should I spend more for a lackluster experience? I had some pretty high doubts about Goose Creek but my husband loves candles so much…how could I not give them a try?

I tried Scented Candles From Goose Creek and Here’s What Happened!

Goose Creek Scented Candles – First Impressions

I wasn’t sure what to expect when Goose Creek offered to send me a candle to try out. I think I expected a small jar candle that would burn for a couple of hours and smell the best the second you opened it up. Imagine my surprise when my box arrived and I got this beautifully large candle, I mean if nothing else it should burn for a long time right? In fact, I got curious and looked it up, according to Good Creek this candle should burn for about 150 hours. Not Bad! I was eager to give it a try!

What really surprised me though was the scent! The candle I received is called Blueberry Cheesecake which is pretty perfect for our family as we love both cheesecake (the keto kind of course!) and blueberries! opening up this candle was like being surrounded by dessert. I have tried cheesecake scented candles in the past and often found that they rely too much on the graham cracker crust with not enough on the cheesecake flavor. This candle was beautifully blueberry scented with an undertone of cheesecake so you know its more than just a blueberry candle.

Goose Creek Scented Candles – The Real Test

Of course, most candles smell divine the second that you open them up right? It’s to be expected! The real test comes when you burn them and not just for a little while but for a long time. My husband was a bit perturbed that I made him wait for me to take pictures before letting him light it up – but he’s lived with a blogger long enough now to know the routine! Pictures first! I’m sure all my blogger friends can relate.

So after a quick photo shoot, it was time to really put this candle to the test. We lit it at around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Almost instantly not only the living room but the majority of the house was filled with a delicious scent. We let the candle burn until we went to bed that night and we have relit it pretty much every night since (almost 2 weeks now) and the candle is about halfway used up. It seems that Goose Creek wasn’t lying when they boasted a really long burn length!

But the really crazy thing? The scent – it doesn’t go away. I smell it in the morning when I wake up if we burn it the night before. I’m sitting here writing this article with the candle beside me on the coffee table. It’s not even lit and I still get bursts of scent.

Goose Creek Scented Candles – The Verdict

I admit it. Goose Creek Candles have turned me into a candle convert. It turns out that some candles are worth the price! This candle costs far less then I expected. The Blueberry Cheesecake large jar candle typically sells for 27.99 which is a far better deal in my mind then the multitude of lackluster candles we normally get from the store. Typically a good sized candle from the store costs 10-12 dollars but the scent is fleeting and they burn down in a few days at best. Of course, they have various sizes, air fresheners and wax melts too.

My husband and I have already picked out several scents we want to try – including Orange Cream Soda, Watermelon Patch, and Sweet Honeysuckle. There is a pretty good chance that family members will be receiving these candles for Christmas next year too!

It’s definitely worth looking at if you’re not sure exactly what you want to try. They also tend to share sales and discounts there too which Goose Creeks seems to offer pretty often.
