I knew as soon as I had kids that they were doomed to have poor eyesight. With both myself and my husband wearing glasses it seemed inevitable that they would need them too. I wasn’t wrong, it wasn’t long after they started school that glasses became a necessity for both of them. While genetics play a large role in our eyesight there are a few ways you can take better care of your eyesight and keep things from getting worse! There are many aspects of our health and wellbeing that get easily ignored, and our eyesight can be one of them. It’s easy to feelRead More →

how to run farther without hurting yourself

When you become a mother or a wife, dealing with medical scares are probably the last thing in the world that you want to do. But they do happen! Sometimes it’s a freak accident requiring a trip to the hospital or the result of an unhealthy lifestyle and sometimes it’s there right from the start as a gift of genetics. Regardless of the cause, bad things happen sometimes and it can be difficult for your family, especially young children. While I don’t think anyone can truly prepare for all possible test results, accidents or issues that might come up, I do think that we canRead More →

Types of Yoga

While I do my yoga in the comfort of my own home (Doggy partner optional but highly recommended for some laughs) I have looked into joining a class once or twice. It seemed like it might be a good idea to get at least a little bit of help with some of the forms! However, I was always a bit stumped when I found out that ‘yoga’ was basically a catch-all phrase for a lot of very different types of exercise. In the end, I just kept following my FabFitFun TV & youtube yoga for beginners and yoga for runner videos but someday I wouldn’t mind signingRead More →

Keto and Cancer

We in the western world have an addiction. No matter who we are or what we do, no matter how much we exercise or how much we eat, almost all of us are afflicted. In fact, this addiction has become so normalized that we usually don’t even notice it. Yet, it can cause us to pursue damaging and even life-threatening behaviors. We treat it as if it were a fundamental human right. And why wouldn’t we? Convenience hasRead More →

whole family active

We may as well be honest with ourselves. We could all stand to be a little healthier in our day to day lives. Likewise, we could all stand to spend more time together as a family; engaging in a balanced diet of activities which will not only enrich our lives and bring us closer together but ensure that we are as fit and healthy as we can be. Given that most of us spend 8-10 hours a day sitting (which can have some pretty serious repercussions for our health) in an air-conditioned office under fluorescent lighting, by the time we get home from work mostRead More →
