Give Your Friends a Morning Boost With Christmas Coffee!

I don’t know about you guys but around here my morning cup of coffee pretty much dictates how the rest of the day is going to go! Nothing like waking up at 5:45 in the morning to feed the critters and finding out that someone used the last of the heavy whipping cream the night before. I’m looking at you kids with your fancy late-night hot chocolate! It’s also disappointing to find out that there is no more good coffee left and there is a pretty big difference between the ‘good’ coffee and the emergency tub of coffee that’s been in the back of the cupboard for a while. Coffee is pretty much the only thing that makes me functional in the mornings because I am a morning person by necessity rather than desire. I know a lot of my homesteading, early morning runners and mom friends feel pretty much the same way which makes Christmas coffee gifts a pretty awesome choice.

You can imagine my excitement then when I was contacted by Two Rivers Coffee and given the opportunity to try out their holiday packs of Coffee and Hot Chocolate (which I might even share with the kids if they stop stealing all the heavy whipping cream). Of course, I said yes! I love trying new coffee and I also love fancy, fun-flavored coffee (and creamers and fun mugs and pretty much anything related to my morning hit of caffeine) so this review opportunity was pretty much a win in my book. Bonus for you guys, they also offered to let me host a giveaway so make sure you enter at the bottom of this post for a chance to win!

Who Are Two Rivers Coffee?

Two Rivers Coffee Company was established in 2012 launching its first products in April of that year. They have specialized in creating Keurig compatible single-serve cups and have pioneered some unique manufacturing designs that have led them to where they are today. Two Rivers Coffee company currently offers over 60 coffee products, as well as a broad selection of teas and hot cocoas. In total, TRC has over 100 unique beverage choices across 11 brands with more to come in the near future. This means that if you have a favorite roast or flavor there’s a pretty good chance you can find it at Two Rivers Coffee and the holiday gift packs are a pretty good way to try quite a few of them! If you’re interested in knowing more about the company I suggest following their various social media channels here – Facebook, Instagram & Twitter.

What do You Get In the Gift Packs?

I was given two gift packs to try out, a Coffee pack and a Hot Chocolate pack. Each pack came with 12 individual K-cup servings in multiple flavors. I haven’t tried all of them yet…but I can say that the peppermint ones are amazing. When it comes to flavored drinks at Christmas anything peppermint and chocolate flavored gets used first. It’s just my favorite seasonal go-to flavor! Lucky for me there were several different varieties of this combination included.

Coffee Pack

  • Brooklyn Bridge Blend (Traditional Medium Roast)
  • Maple Spice
  • Peppermint Mocha
  • Red Velvet Cupcake
  • Vanillia Spice
  • Butterscotch Swirl
  • Peppermint Stick Ice Cream
  • French Roast
  • Donut Shop
  • Jingle Java (hazelnut & nutmeg)
  • Andes Mint Chocolate
  • Chocolate Cherry)

Hot Chocolate Pack

  • Milk Chocolate
  • Mint Chocolate Cookie
  • Peanut Butter Cup
  • Butterscotch
  • Salted Caramel
  • Cocoa Claus (chocolate covered strawberry)
  • Soho Cocoa (dark Chocolate)
  • Charleston Chew
  • Junior Mints
  • Sugar Babies
  • Tootsie Roll
  • Vanillia Caramel Cream

As you can see there is quite a variety to choose from and most likely there will be a choice for even the pickiest coffee or hot chocolate drinker in your family. Half the fun of these types of sampler packs is trying out new flavors and there are a few on there that I’ve never heard of before but can’t wait to try. Chocolate-covered strawberry hot chocolate? Sorry kids..that one’s mine and I’m probably going to steal the Chocolate Cherry coffee too. I might allow my husband to try the Red Velvet cupcake coffee since that’s his all-time favorite dessert..but I’m definitely taking a sip. I make his morning coffee..he’ll never know!

But How Does The Coffee Taste and Do the Pods Work Properly?!?

So properly working pods is a pretty big deal. Most of the time I buy ground coffee and use reusable K-cups in my Keurig. This is mostly because there is a wider variety of flavors available in ground coffee and it tends to be cheaper too but when I do buy the single-serve cups, which are quite handy for rushed mornings or when you have company then there is nothing worse than a k-cup that comes unsealed and spews coffee grounds into your coffee. I’ve had that happen in the past and there are brands I will no longer buy because it happened so often.

I’m thankful to say that none of the pods in these sampler packs seemed to have this issue, they all seemed to be firmly sealed and held up to the brewing pressure quite nicely. Not a coffee ground to be seen! They fit perfectly in my machine and the coffee was packed full enough that it produced a rich and flavorful drink. None of those half-filled watered-down cups around here!

So far the hot chocolate and coffee flavors have been a pretty big hit here at the house. I could probably go through the whole pack of hot chocolate by myself in a couple of days if I wanted too but I’m trying to be nice and share! My favorite of the coffee so far is the Peppermint Stick Ice cream – it was exceptionally good with some frothed milk! the kids have been pretty big fans of the Peanut butter and butterscotch hot chocolates too. Taste-wise they are definitely worth trying out!

Where can You buy Them?

Two Rivers Coffee are available in quite a few places! You can find them in some retail stores but for online shopping (which I love because I will avoid the Christmas crowds at stores as much as I can) you can find them on Amazon – Coffee & Hot Chocolate or directly from Two Rivers Coffee here – Coffee & Hot Chocolate.
