FabFitFun Winter Box Review, Warm, Cozy and full of comfort

FabFitFun Winter Box review

This winter box marks a full year of subscribing to FabFitFun! I have to admit that the anticipation of waiting for each new box never diminished. Although I haven’t ended up a giant fan of every product I received I have enjoyed giving them all a try. Most of these are items I never would have bought on my own. not because I didn’t want them but because, despite all my best efforts, I still have trouble indulging in products just for me. This FabFitFun winter box was no exception! It was filled with wonderfully warm and cozy items that were perfect for the season and a lot of fun to try out!

If you’ve been considering giving FabfitFun a try but wondering what sort of products you might receive my previous posts might interest you. I have done reviews of last years Spring, Summer and Fall boxes in addition to this one! Before we get into the box review I thought I would give a brief introduction for those unfamiliar with the brand.  If you have never heard of this box before here’s a quick description! FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box. Once you have signed up you receive a box in the mail filled with all sorts of goodies based on the seasons.

Warm And Cozy in the House

FabFitFun winter box review, blanket and socks

Mark and Graham Colorblock Throw

This blanket was one of the customization options for this box. One of the things I love most about FabFitFun is that I get the chance to make a few choices in every box. For this blanket, I got to pick between two colors – Grey/Ivory or Natural/Ivory. Since my living room has a lot of natural tans and browns in it I went with Natural/Ivory.

This blanket is a touch thinner than I normally buy but it’s absurdly soft. It seems perfect for curling up on the couch during the cooler evenings. It probably wouldn’t be warm enough if you were wearing shorts and a t-shirt or perpetually cold-blooded but with a sweater and jeans? It’s just about right. It’s also quite beautiful and looks pretty fantastic draped over the living room chairs.

Richer Poorer Reina Over the Knee Textured Socks

Over the knee socks have become something of a winter obsession for me this year. I mean not only do they keep my toes cozy but they look pretty fantastic with my boots.  This made them a really easy choice. The other options were an acupuncture jade stone roller and an eyeshadow palette. I admit I was sorely tempted by the eyeshadow but the colors were ones I already have quite a few of and I really love knee socks.

These socks were everything I hoped they would be when I picked them and I have worn them out several times already. The color is great since it goes with a lot of different outfits and they are super soft and thick. Perfect for cool weather and cold toes. Cold toes have been a problem this winter since we replaced all the carpet in the house with laminate but hey! That’s just an excuse to wear my socks more!

Warm and Cozy Outside!

fabfitfun winter box review gloves and headband

Bearpaw Combo Set – Headband and Pop-top Glove Duo

Since I want to keep running during the winter months I was more than happy to see this set as one of my choices in my FabFitFun winter box. Of course even without running this was a pretty easy choice as my other option was a Moroccan Gold Series Treatment Mask. Through a bit of trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that I’m not really a mask person.

I love that this set includes pop top gloves. While I have a pair of gloves which work on touch screens they can still be a bit bulky. Having my fingers free and clear when I need to adjust my running program or music is really convenient! Both the gloves and headband are soft and thick enough to keep me warm even in the cold headwind that sometimes springs up in our neighborhood.

Something Fancy

LeLe Sadoughi Silver Circle Necklace

I never buy jewelry for myself. I admire jewelry and my husband often gets me a piece for our anniversary or my birthday but I never, ever, buy it for myself. It generally seems like a frivolous purchase and that the money should be spent elsewhere. The whole point of signing up for Fabfitfun last year, however, was to treat myself from time to time.

To that end, I almost always pick the jewelry options when they come up. The other choices I had were a Jewlerry portfolio to help keep your jewelry organized (but I use my wire wrapped tree for that) And some Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. I feel like the necklace was truly the best choice!

I wore it to the family Christmas this year and fond it to be pretty popular. It’s delicate enough to match most outfits but bold enough to be noticed. I especially liked that it was silver since I currently have a lack of silver necklaces to go with the silver pandora bracelet my husband got me last year.

A Bit of Beauty

FabFitFun Winter box, eye highlighter, mask, eye masks

Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in ‘Stella”

Beauty products are pretty much a guarantee in every box and this FabFitFun winter box is no exception. I always love receiving beauty products because they happen to be one of the items I have a hard time spending money on for myself. I tested out this highlighter right away and loved how smooth and easily it went on. It blended really well with my makeup sponge and I think it definitely helped get rid of the dark shadows which seem to plague my eyes.

Ahava Hydration Cream Mask

As I stated above I don’t know if I will ever be a mask person. BUT! I am far more likely to use a cream mask like this one then the sheet masks I have tried from previous boxes. I just…don’t enjoy the way sheet masks feel on my skin.  But I wanted to give this a try anyway and I’m glad I did! This cream mask doesn’t smell quite as lovely as some of the scrubs I have received but it’s not overly chemical smelling either. It’s thick and easy to put on and rinses off without trouble too! I might not be a sheet mask person but I did like the way this cream mask made my skin feel so I’ll likely keep using it.

Blaq Hydrogel Eye Mask with Hyaluronic Acid

I admit I haven’t tried these yet. I plan to – but, my oversensitivity to putting things near my eyes and above-stated dislike of masks have kept me from actually doing so! They have fairly good reviews and a lot of people seem to like tem but I really don’t know if they will be for me! Thats okay though! I don’t expect every product in every box to be a winner for me personally! I will give them a try at some point and if I don’t like them I can always pass them along to some one who will. You never know, they might surprise me!

A Few Extras

fabfitfun winter box oils and cream

Way of Will Elevate Essential Oil Set – Sweet Orange & Eucalyptus

I have never used essential oils. Crazy right? Given how popular they are lately! I guess I never really thought they worked as anything more than smelling nice and these certainly do smell nice! I am eager to give the eucalyptus a try the next time my exercise program leaves me with some sore muscles. The sweet orange smells divine and makes my house smell like a creamsicle so no complaints there either!

Avene Hydrance Rehydrating Serum

I have found this to be a nice little addition to the FabFitFun winter box! The winter air can play havoc on my skin and really dries it out. I have always used basic moisturizers which helped a bit but this stuff was really a step up and I’ve noticed a very noticeable difference since I started using it.

FabFitFun Winter Box Conclusion

fabfitfun winter box review

While there are a couple products in this box that I will likely use rarely if at all I still have to say that this has probably been my favorite box so far! It’s probably because I love blankets, socks, and cozy things! It might also be because this box arrived just a little bit before Christmas and it felt like an extra gift. Regardless I am pretty happy with my year of FabFitFun and I don’t think anyone can go wrong by trying this box out!

I love the customization options! Picking the colors or items I get makes me feel like I’m really getting my money’s worth since I can choose what fits my life and home. Of course, I also love all the surprise items because..surprises are fun too! I was worried the throw would be too thin as I normally buy really heavy and thick blankets but its surprisingly warm and I use it all the time while watching TV now.

  5. I have heard of fabfitfun before because I’ve seen videos of youtubers unboxing theirs. I’m always really interested to see what’s inside and it looks like the winter box is a great one! I can’t even choose what my favourite thing is out of everything you showed us. It seems like it’s well worth the money, especially if it contains things you wouldn’t normally buy for yourself!
